Les Paul Copy
It was probably your first guitar. You could call it a Les Paul "Copy". But it wasn't. There is something DISTINCT about a real Gibson Les Paul. Its sustain giving weight; its solid mahogany body with a carved maple cap construction; its super creamy PAF humbuckers. Yes its shape. The focus of this site, the Les Paul copy, looks like a Gibson. It has the single cutaway body with dual pickups. But it doesn't have the fat tone of a Gibson Les Paul. Or at least most don't. But that doesn't matter. There are plenty of Les Paul Copy guitars that sound great, look superb, and play like butter. And this site is dedicated to them - to all those (mostly) Japanese 'lawsuit' guitars built in the 1970s and 80s in the style of a Gibson, but with their own voices. Some were awesome, others were terrible. Welcome to the world of the Les Paul copy!

This is an interesting vintage rock machine with plenty of charm. It feels hefty on the shoulder, as any decent LP should, and there's a lovely rosewood fretboard with good frets for age, along with mother of pearl block inlays. Age related marks but good overall as seen, could do with some light restoration- cleaning of tone pots etc. One screw is missing from the truss rod cover and one of the others isn't original, there's also a crack in the pickup selector switch plate as pictured.
