Les Paul Copy
It was probably your first guitar. You could call it a Les Paul "Copy". But it wasn't. There is something DISTINCT about a real Gibson Les Paul. Its sustain giving weight; its solid mahogany body with a carved maple cap construction; its super creamy PAF humbuckers. Yes its shape. The focus of this site, the Les Paul copy, looks like a Gibson. It has the single cutaway body with dual pickups. But it doesn't have the fat tone of a Gibson Les Paul. Or at least most don't. But that doesn't matter. There are plenty of Les Paul Copy guitars that sound great, look superb, and play like butter. And this site is dedicated to them - to all those (mostly) Japanese 'lawsuit' guitars built in the 1970s and 80s in the style of a Gibson, but with their own voices. Some were awesome, others were terrible. Welcome to the world of the Les Paul copy!

Plays great and feels nice, but has some years of scrathes, dings and surface cracks in the finish to declare its awesomeness to the World. I tried to capture the major blems in the pics. It will also need a new tone pot for the neck pick-up position. I might recommend just replacing all the pots with new CTS but that's me.

I believe it is one of the Japanese "Lawsuit copies" of the Gibson but I'm not 100% sure
As the photos show it is in need of restoration as it needs all of the strings replacing and it has also been in storage for a long time so has rust in places on the metal bits of the body

There is minimal buckle rash and given its age there are surprisingly few scuffs, marks or scratches around the body. There are no breaks or repairs. The machine heads are the originals and work fine but a new set wouldn't go amiss
