This is an original, pre-lawsuit 1979 Tokai LS-120 "Les Paul Reborn" Standard The "Reborn" branded LS-120 was only manufactured for a brief two-year window (1978??1979) before transitioning to "Reborn Old" and eventually "Love Rock " Finding an early-production LS-120 is exceptionally difficult, even on the Japanese market.

This 1980 LS100 is a particularly special one with a 000xxx serial it is a transitional model between the reborn old and love rock which is the right at the peak of these instruments. Original pickups and pots (which are generally just 'OK') have been replaced by awesome Sunbear SB-PAF 59's with a low to mid 8k output and 50's wiring loom and PIO bumblebee caps which means that it sounds absolutely incredible as well as plays brilliantly

Here is a cool vintage 1981 Japanese Tokai LS-60 Love Rock Les Paul. Vintage Tokais (??78-??85) are our absolute favourite Japanese lawsuit style Japanese single-cuts here at GSG. This one is a real beauty with a rare tobacco burst finish (they are often bright tomato clownbursts ) There is even little birdseye in the top. Here is a really nice vintage 1984 Japanese Tokai LS-50 Love Rock Les Paul Goldtop. Vintage Tokai (??78-??85) are our absolute favourite lawsuit style Japanese single-cuts. This one is a beaut, with a really nice goldtop (a lot harder to find than the usual clownbursts you see from this period).
